Hospital brings festive cheer to underprivileged children

One of the many charitable acts by KPJ Ipoh Specialist Hospital during the month of Ramadan was a shopping treat and buka puasawith the children from Rumah Kanak-Kanak Sultan Abdul Aziz in Kuala Kangsar.

About 40 children were taken on a shopping spree with 40 volunteers from the hospital
accompanying them.

This is the first time the hospital organised such an event.The buka puasa session was held at Masjid Muhammadiah, also known as Masjid Cina, at Tasek in Ipoh.

The hospital’s chief executive officer Asmadi Mohd Bakri said Ramadan was a month for
people to spread some joy to the less fortunate.

“We are glad to have organised these events, which we hope benefits the children,” he said. Bubur lambuk preparation and distribution to all staff, consultants and the public is part of the hospital’s tradition, with four huge pots of the porridge prepared and over 1,000 packs distributed every Thursday for three weeks throughout Ramadan.

The objective of the programme was to strengthen the relationship between the consultants, management and staff of the hospital.
