KPJ AND WYETHAID'S EFFORTS TO PREVENT PNEUMOCOCCAL DISEASE
KPJ has recently tied up with WyethAid Malaysia to promote the Pneumococcal Disease Awareness Campaign.

The pneumococcus bug can cause meningitis (infection of the lining of the brain or spinal cord), pneumonia (infection of the lung), bacteraemia (blood infection), as well as otitis media (infection in the middle ear).
Understanding the seriousness of the disease, which kills 20 children below 5 years old in Malaysia annually, KPJ has agreed to be one of the Hospital Partners in this campaign, which was launched on June 18th 2008 at Hilton Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
Representing KPJ was the group’s Senior General Manager, Tn. Hj. Amiruddin Abdul Aziz who received an acknowledgement plaque from Wyeth Managing Director, Thomas J. Sichort.
