 HISTORY was made when the Seremban KPJ Hospital embarked on a pilot adoption programme of SMK Taman Tuanku Jaafar (SMKTTJ), Sungai Gadut, Negri Sembilan, as part of its community service venture.
Staff members and students were beaming with pride when programme was launched by Negri Sembilan deputy director of Education, Kalsom Khalid recently. Also present was Seremban KPJ Hospital CEO Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman.
Under the programme, the school received a new bed, wheelchair, stretcher, two sidetables, two first aid kits, a thermometer and an eye chart from the hospital.
KPJ Hospital also gave the sick bay a new coat of paint and attractive curtains. The sick bay went through a complete makeover with the help of the hospital.
"The students now have better facilities in the event they fall ill or during emergency cases," said SMKTTJ principal, Omar Ahmad.
Suzana Kasirun and Shahrizan Adenan from the hospital's HR and marketing department tirelessly worked hand in hand with the teacher in charge to equip the sick bay with adequate facilities for everyone to use in the school.
In his speech, Abdul Aziz gave his assurance that the hospital would further extend its services by conducting medical screening for the benefit of the teachers from time to time.
They have also pledged to hold medical talks for the students.
KPJ Hospital aims to educating students on healthcare through the adoption programme.
