JOHOR BARU: Kamaruzzaman Abu Kassim, senior vice-president of finance and corporate services of Johor Corporation (JCorp), was appointed the diversified conglomerate’s acting president and chief executive yesterday following the resignation of Tan Sri Muhammad Ali Hashim. Menteri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman said the decision to appoint Kamaruzzaman was made at the 153rd JCorp board meeting chaired by him. The meeting accepted the resignation, effective yesterday, of long-time president and chief executive Muhammad Ali, he said in a five-paragraph statement. Following Muhammad Ali’s resignation, Kamaruzzaman will perform the duties and responsibilities as JCorp president and chief executive on an acting capacity. Ghani, who is also JCorp chairman, said he, on behalf of the state government, JCorp Board of Directors and staff expressed the highest appreciation and gratitude to Muhammad Ali for his long and dedicated service to the corporation. — Bernama |
