Large turnout at KPJ's Open Day

The serene grounds of KPJ International College (KPJIC) of Nursing and Health Sciences was a hive of activity at its Open Day recently. Held on May 7, it attracted a large number of school leavers and parents to the college’s main campus in Nilai. The Open Day featured course counseling Datuk Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor motivated students to chase their dreams. by its Schools of Nursing and Health Sciences as well as open interviews for course intakes. Prospective students were given a rundown on the most sought-after courses at KP] such as nursing, physiotherapy and pharmacy to give them a clearer picture on the syllabus as well as the perks of studying at KPJ. The event became a memorable one for many with the presence of the guest-of honour, Datuk Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor, the country’s first angkasawan. Dr Sheikh Muszaphar was invited to deliver a motivational talk titled Dreams are Possible in conjunction with the event that was also attended by more than 100 students from four schools. The inspirational speaker who is also an orthopaedic surgeon shared his experiences in space and motivated the crowd to chase their dreams. KPJ executive director and group chief executive Yusof Ismail said besides promoting the college to school leavers, the Open Day was also the college’s way of giving back to the community as the event benefited the small businesses and schools in the surrounding area.
