KPJ charts higher 2Q pretax profit of RM45m

KPJ Healthcare Bhd has recorded a higher pretax profit of RM45.2 million for its second-quarter (2Q) ended June 30, 2011, compared to RM41.3 million in the same quarter last year.

Revenue also rose to RM470.9 million from RM410.2 million in the previous quarter. In a filling to Bursa Malaysia last Friday, the company said the increased pretax profit is mainly attributed to an increase in revenue of the hospitals.

For its cumulative period ended June 30, 2011, the company also registered a higher pretax profit of RM86.8 million, compared to RM79.3 million previously. Bernama
