DAMANSARA: Leisure tourism developer and operator Themed Attractions and Resorts Sdn Bhd yesterday signed on nine additional business partners for the upcoming KidZania Kuala Lumpur educational and entertainment theme park.
The venture will see a total investment of RM15 million by new partners -- Boustead Petroleum Marketing Sdn Bhd, Celcom Axiata Bhd. Commonwealth Travel Service Corporation Pte Ltd, Cotra Enterprises Bhd (Vitagen & Marigold), F&N Beverages Marketing Sdn Bhd, Marrybrown Sdn Bhd, KPJ Healthcare Bhd, RO Water Sdn Bhd and Sony (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.
These partners will provide intellectual property in the development of the theme park along with the present 11 partners with investment valued at RM 45 million.
Themed Attractions managing director and chief executive officer Tunku Datuk Ahmad Burhanuddin said: “Our partners will be actively involved in providing input into the set up and running of the various establishments and professions. They will provide content and industry expertise which will enable us to provide a life-like setting for the various sectors and professions.â€
The tenure of each partnership is for the duration of three to five year. The 80,000 sq ft theme park will see a total investment worth RM80 million and is expected to open its doors to kids by early next year.
KidZania is an indoor educational and entertainment theme park located at the Curve NX, for kids aged between four to 14.
The award winning indoor park which started in Mexico back in 1999, is very popular in cities like Tokyo and Jakarta. Kids will actually play in a replica of a real city where they can taken on role-plays at child-sized fixtures like hospitals, travel agency and petrol station.
