
JOHOR BARU: More than 50 members of the media recently participated in a bowling tournament organised by the KPJ Johor Specialist Hospital.
The tournament was held at the Ampang Superbowl in Pelangi Leisure Mall here, and was the hospital’s way of creating a platform for fostering and strengthening its relationship with the local media.
The hospital’s executive director/chief executive officer, Norita Ahmad, said: "This is the hospital’s first attempt at organising a bowling tournament with members of the press and it is also our way to express our appreciation for your support over the years."
The members of the press were represented by teams from Bernama, Kosmo, TV Al-Hijrah, Astro Awani. RTM Berita Ehwal Semasa Unit, disc jockeys from RTM Radio, The Star, New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd, Best 104fm, Utusan Malaysia and Sin Chew Daily.
Each team had four members comprising two males and two females.
RTM’s current news unit emerged the winner with the highest score and walked away with RM800, a trophy and also a hamper.
Second place went to Astro Awani, which took home RM600, a trophy and a hamper, while Bernama’s team A won the third prize of RM400, a trophy and a hamper.
The Master Male prize went to Johor’s Media Club president Mohd Fauzi Ishak who received RM200, a trophy and a hamper, while the Master Female award went to RTM current news unit reporter, Faezah Abdullah. By Jassmine
