Hospital group honours Arabs

AN Arab Community Day was held recently to attract more Arabs to seek medical treatment at hospitals under KPJ Healthcare Bhd (KPJ) nationwide.

Held at KPJ Tawakkal Specialist Hospital, here, the two-day event included health talks, free basic health screening, showcase of local and Middle East food, as well as lifestyle booths.

During the event which was graced by KPJ Healthcare managing director Datin Paduka Siti Sa'adiah Sheikh Bakir, guests were entertained with cultural performances by Malaysian and Arab entertainers and special appearance by Upin and Ipin.

Also featured was the traditional Malay wedding ceremony, where two KPJ Tawakkal Specialist Hospital staff Riduan Ibrahim and Siti Nurhafizah Muhamed Fadzil who got married recently had their bersandingall over again.

Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia first secretary Moharib Ibrahim A1 Moharib and Arab Economic Unity Council secretary-general Dr Mahmoud Al-Musafer blessed the bride and groom.

Siti Sa'adiah said the event was held to show appreciation to the Arab community who have been a great support and important customer segment to KPJ Group of Hospitals.

"The Arab community is no stranger to KPJ. They are the second largest number of foreign patients who get their medical treatment with us after Indonesians.

"Therefore, having the carnival, we hope to attract more Arabs to get their treatment with us," she said.

KPJ continues to gain the trust of the community as it attended to the medical needs of more than 2.6 million patients last year.
