KUALA LUMPUR: KPJ Healthcare Bhd is paying RM14.25 million for 100% of Sri Manjung Specialist Centre Sdn Bhd, which operates a medical centre by the same name in Sitiawan, Perak.
"The proposed acquisition would enable KPJ Group to expand its network of hospitals to locations where private healthcare is in demand, enlarge the customer base and further establish itself as a key healthcare service provider in Malaysia," KPJ's statement to Bursa Malaysia yesterday read.
It intends to fund the purchase with internal funds. It expects to complete the acquisition by the fourth quarter. KPJ slid three sen or 0.48% to RM6.17 yesterday with 219,000 shares done.
