Instead of resting at home and celebrating the New Year holiday with their families, volunteers from KPJ Ipoh Specialist Hospital came together to help flood victims in Kampung Gajah housed at the MRSM Pasir Salak flood relief centre. Medical officers and consultant specialists provided medical checkups and prescribed medication as well as supplements to almost 1,000 evacuees during their visit. Other volunteers from non nursing and nursing departments of the hospital gave out medication, food and other items sponsored by the hospital to the victims. They also organised a simple colouring activity for the children to help cheer them up. Chief executive officer Asmadi Mohd Bakri said the visit to the flood relief centre was the hospital's first corporate social responsibility outreach project for the year. "We are looking forward to taking part in a recovery phase project soon," he said. Headline Caring for flood victims MediaTitle The Star (Metro Perak) |
