KPJ Damansara and cleaning company HC Duraclean collaborated to help clean up evacuation areas and homes affected by the floods in Kelantan. The hospital also sent its medical team comprising a physician, pharmacist and nurses to offer health screening and free checkups to those showing symptoms for several illnesses. A group of 26 volunteers were in Gua Musang to conduct basic health examinations and checkups at a mobile clinic located in SMK Tanjung Indra Petra's compound before moving on to Kampung Baru Hilir, Kampung Limau Kasturi and an orang asli village, Pos Pok Dek. The medical team was led by Dr Rozilah Hamir, who was assisted by a group of nurses. They were in the state for four days. The volunteers also distributed flood relief items such as dry and canned food, bottled water and candles as well as assisted the elderly and their families to return to their homes. The next volunteer team will be deployed on Jan 19 for four days. |
