KPJ Healthcare Bhd’s (KPJ) wholly-owned subsidiary, Kumpulan Perubatan (Johor) Sdn Bhd (KPJSB), has entered into a joint venture with Sterilgamma (M) Sdn Bhd (SMSB) to offer sterilisation services to hospitals and other related businesses.
KPJ expects to complete the proposed joint venture by June 2009 and it is expected be operational by next year.

KPJSB will take a 65 per cent stake in the joint venture under a name to be announced later and once the venture company has been incorporated.

SMSB is entitled to increase its shareholdings up to a maximum of 49 per cent which shall commensurate with the government contracts procured by SMSB for the joint venture company.

SMSB is also entitled to purchase/subscribe to the additional shares at RM1.00 per share, KPJ said in an announcement on Bursa Malaysia Securities.

KPJ said the total investment cost of the joint venture company is RM8.5 million, of which KPJSB's contribution is RM5.53 million. - Bernama
